·         training and development opportunities

·         working in a diverse environment

·         attractive salary

Northern Territory Government Traineeship and Aboriginal Traineeship Programs

The NT) offers exciting and challenging traineeship opportunities in remote, regional and urban locations. Traineeships combine employment with structured learning to develop workplace skills and provide a nationally recognised qualification at the certificate II, III, IV or diploma level.

Trainees are employed by a hosting agency within the NTG. Hosting agencies provide relevant
on-the-job training for the length of the traineeship.

Trainees also receive structured off-the-job training through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). The qualification undertaken and the location of the traineeship determine the method of training provided, but could include workbooks, assignments, block training and local or interstate delivery.

Trainees are encouraged to actively plan their career path using the skills, knowledge and experience gained through their traineeship. On successful completion, trainees may also have the opportunity to further their studies in their chosen field at a higher level.

To be eligible for the NTG Traineeship and Aboriginal Traineeship Programs, applicants must:

·         have successfully completed year 10 or be over the age of 17

·         not hold a higher qualification or equivalent qualification in a similar discipline

·         be eligible to work in Australia for the period of the program

·         if applying for the Aboriginal Traineeship Program, be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander decent

·         complete the online application IN FULL and attach all supporting documentation to the online application.

Note: If you are offered a traineeship, your employment will be dependent on being able to provide proof of your eligibility for employment in Australia and Confirmation of Aboriginality (if selected for the NTG Aboriginal Traineeship Program).
