Primary Objective

To deliver high level administration and secretariat support services to the various Boards and Commissions under the administration of Licensing NT.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

1.     Provide high-level administrative support and secretariat services in accordance with legislative frameworks to ensure the Boards and Commissions meet their statutory responsibilities and obligations.

2.     Maintain and update Board and Commission records and information, including websites, membership details, hearing dates, decision notices, annual reports, policies and guidelines, to ensure that presentation is correct, complete and deadlines are met.

3.     Maintain Board and Commission diaries and proceedings relating to conduct of meetings, public hearings and disciplinary inquiries.

4.     Provide advice to the division, the Director-General of Licensing, Boards and Commissions, industry stakeholders, licensees and the community.

5.     Provide financial administrative and accounting support to the Agents Licensing Fidelity Guarantee Fund.


Selection Criteria:


1.     High-level ability to support a number of statutory bodies carrying out licensing and regulatory activities including general administration, records management, arranging travel and accommodation and processing of sitting fees.

2.     Experience in coordinating meetings and hearings, including the preparation, collation and circulation of agenda papers, recording and producing minutes, producing hearing books and hearing/inquiry notices and action of meeting and hearing outcomes.

3.     Ability to interpret and apply legislation and possess a sound understanding of statutory body obligations and processes, including decision making.

4.     High-level interpersonal, organisational, written and oral communication skills.

5.     Ability to be adaptable and flexible including the ability to work with conflicting priorities, prioritise commitments and meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

6.     Experience in office-based computing applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and office technology.

7.     Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a small team environment with minimal supervision.



1.     Knowledge of the licensing and regulatory regimes administered by Licensing NT and business of the statutory bodies.


Further Information: 

The successful applicant must have no significant criminal record as confirmed by a Police History Check and must be willing to travel within the Northern Territory as required, including to remote locations.
