Primary Objective:

The Policy Implementation Coordinator supports the Manager Policy Implementation in leading and planning the implementation of organisational and stakeholder development initiatives across the Northern Territory.


Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

1.     Coordinate, implement and monitor policy programs, as delegated by the Director Capability Development and Manager Policy Implementation in close consultation with the Training Development and Delivery unit. 

2.     In response to the introduction of new and/or revised policies, implement, monitor and evaluate quality and continuous improvement practices in the agency, to achieve improved outcomes.

3.     Lead the timely roll-out and implementation of a portfolio of improvement initiatives and projects.

4.     Contribute to and influence continuous improvement practices of the Branch and the agency’s business processes associated with operational policy and change management.

5.     Coordinate the design and management of evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives of capability, learning and development programs, materials and workforce.

6.     Provide support and guidance to the policy implementation team.


Selection Criteria


1.     Coordinate and manage workloads related to multiple and complex projects whilst meeting tight deadlines in an environment that is subject to rapid change.

2.     Sound knowledge of project management and demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating operation policy in a climate of change

3.     Well-developed consultation and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to establish clear plans and timeframes for the implementation of multiple projects.

4.     High level oral and written communication, negotiation and influencing skills with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.

5.     Experience working cross-culturally with communities, stakeholders and with people in politically sensitive and complex situations.

6.     Ability to interpret and apply legislation, preferable relevant to a regulatory or enforcement environment.



1.     A degree in behavioural science or other relevant discipline.

2.     Formal qualifications in project management or other relevant discipline.
