Inclusive Communities Officer

We are seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Inclusive Communities Officer to actively work in the planning and development of infrastructure and programs for young people across Greater Bendigo.

In this role you will work in partnership with other agencies to meaningfully engage with and encourage the participation of diverse groups of young people in activities and programs. Your role aims to build the capacity, support networks and skills of young people to enable their participation in the social, civic and economic life of the community. You will also be responsible for the planning and delivery of funded programs, the City’s Youth Strategy and other initiatives for young people.

The successful applicant will have qualifications in Community Development, Youth Studies, Social Science or similar discipline, or relevant experience in working with young people within a community development framework. To succeed in this you will require a demonstrated ability to establish and support effective networks and specialist skills in web-based technology with a particular focus on social media platforms.

A satisfactory Police Record Check and Working with Children Check are mandatory for this position.
