The opportunity

Amenities and Infrastructure Maintenance Services (AIM) staff are proud to care for natural and built environments for the enjoyment of everyone who uses the region's open spaces. As a full facility maintenance supplier we provide a range of services to enhance our parks, places and public spaces.
As we continue on our journey of growth in 2018 we are looking for a Leading Hand to join our Arboriculture team!

As an Arborist Leading Hand, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of AIM Arboriculture contract by performing a variety of arboricultural duties such as tree planting and aftercare maintenance, truck driving, machine operating, chainsaw and chipper use, stumpgrinder use, as well as general arboricultural groundsman activities of a manual labouring nature. As the Leading Hand, you will take a lead role in offering advice, support and direction, ensuring the site runs efficiently, and escalating any decisions or concerns to the Contract Supervisor and Service Delivery Manager as necessary. 
•         Working safely at all times
•         Positive interactions with our customers and their customers
•         Inspecting, maintaining, repairing and replacing assets across our customer's portfolios
•         Renewal and minor projects works
•         Availability to undertake occasional after hours response work


About you

You are an skilled arborist with at least 3 years of experience. Have the able to work  independent and carry out inductions through until completion. Naturally you will have a great health and safety attitude and a strong customer service background. Chainsaw operators, arboriculture qualification sand/or horticulture preferable but not necessary! Experienced in rigging and climbing would be a bonus!  A full clean NZ driver license!

Your base location will be throughout the Auckland Region, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with rostered weekend duties and over time, as required. lease note this position is deemed a safety sensitive position and will require pre-employment drug testing.
