Under the supervision of the Senior Scientist, you will use scientific principles and professional judgement in the selection and application of complex flow cytometry activities in the clinical immunology laboratory. You will apply your scientific and technical knowledge and expertise to perform a range of routine diagnostic techniques, including participation in problem definition, planning, execution, analysis and reporting. With supervision, you will also contribute to the development, selection and adoption of new flow cytometry techniques and methodologies. You will undertake routine maintenance and quality control of flow cytometers, as well as assisting with the storage of consumable, specimens, equipment and the safe transport and disposal of specimens. SA Pathology provides quality diagnostic pathology services to the South Australian community, as well as support for training and medical research, through our state-wide laboratory network. Our 19 laboratories are distributed throughout South Australia’s metropolitan and regional hospitals and are supported by more than 55 conveniently located patient collection centres.

Holding a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent, you will have experience in the use of analytical laboratory equipment. Demonstrating good reliability and attendance, you will be able to work as a member of a small team, and on an individual basis, and work under limited supervision. Your positive attitude and good verbal and written communication skills will hold you in good stead, along with an ability to operate effectively under pressure and within limited time constraints.
