STATUS: 12 months Fixed Term

HOURS: Part Time, 16.0 hours per fortnight

DEPARTMENT:   Oncology Day Unit


BRHS is seeking an experienced and passionate Oncology Nurse who is interested in a new challenge.  This role provides a fantastic opportunity to utilise a range of skills and your clinical expertise to complete this project. 

In this role you will work with the Project Lead and Gippsland Survivorship Clinic Nurse to complete the grant project for the establishment of the new nurse-led survivorship clinic at BRHS.    This will involve day to day management of the grant, ensuring the milestones are met, reports are completed within required timeframes and clinics are established ensuring seamless care. 

Once established, this role will be responsible for assessing patient needs, and in consultation with the broader treatment team, producing patient care plans and surveillance schedule.  It is anticipated that the survivorship nurse will take a leadership role in developing the sustainability of the programme, as well as taking a leadership role in embedding survivorship care across the region.


We are seeking a dedicated professional with:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 5 years nursing experience and at least 3 years oncology nursing experience
  • Post graduate qualifications in Cancer Care or working towards higher qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in cancer nursing practice with an excellent knowledge and understanding of the short and long term needs of cancer patients
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience producing action plans, proposals and reports and the capacity to deliver results and evaluate outcomes
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills with a person centred approach
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with a range of stakeholders to develop effective relationships and partnerships
