Coordinate and manage the development of reintegration and transition programs, external services and projects including identification of service delivery gaps and enabling solutions, within broadly delegated authority levels. Work with government and non-government agencies to identify appropriate funding for the implementation of targeted reintegration processes.

Hours per fortnight

Duties

  • Liaise with and coordinate staff, government stakeholders and external service providers to achieve service coordination, reintegration and transition goals, including mentoring and supporting Planning and Reintegration staff in this area.
  • Establish and maintain high level strategic relationships with service providers and liaise with funding bodies to identify and negotiate appropriate funding streams for service providers, including conducting risk analysis of the loss of services and identifying service gaps and develop and implement mitigation strategies with the Team Leader Planning and Reintegration.
  • Develop and implement pre-release and reintegration strategies and provide appropriate mechanisms to ensure a seamless coordination of services between the reintegration unit and service providers, including community service activities in the prison and the community, using prisoners and volunteers to achieve reintegration objectives.
  • Reintegration support of more complex clients as required, assisting in developing comprehensive sentence plans, Section 42 leave and the making of referrals and or recommendations in line with individual plans.
  • Conduct high level research into reintegration and transition services for inmates and provide advice to the TPS on changes to services, including evaluating and responding to ministerial and departmental requests and maintaining relevant departmental databases and case notes.
  • Negotiate, develop and manage Memorandums of Understanding with external service providers which clearly identify key service deliverables, including the maintenance of national and International networks concerning reintegration and transition services.
  • Manage the political and commercial relationships which impact on reintegration and transition services with the Team Leader Planning and Reintegration.
  • Provide biannual reports of external service providers key deliverables, and changes in the literature and/or the national and international approach to reintegration and transition to the Team Leader Planning and Reintegration.

Desirable Requirements

  • Current Tasmanian Drivers Licence.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or a Diploma in a relevant field and extensive experience in a similar role.
