ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Director Corporate Services, the Community Activation Manager is responsible for leading and managing the strategic direction of activities within councils mutli-faceted service centres to ensure service delivery excellence and activation of facilities.


This is a broad and pivotal delivery role focused on improving accessibility to all sectors of the community through various projects and initiatives aimed at increasing community engagement, digital literacy, place activation and customer service.


Your primary responsibilities include

  • Ensure the City of Whyalla fulfils its plan to develop into a regional Smart City by creating a Library/Community Hub with a view to create the region’s Central Library service increasing community engagement and satisfaction.
  • Embrace and lead the delivery of a human-centred mind-set of customer service and programming which supports the contemporary needs of a diverse community.
  • Develop staff to proactively embrace and deliver exceptional community focused, innovative, contemporary services and customer experiences.
  • Coach, mentor and motivate individuals and teams to develop their capacity to manage their work and delivery of excellence in library services and customer experiences.
  • Model a high level of understanding and use of emerging technologies related to the provision of digital literacy to better deliver community services.

ABOUT YOU

You will possess significant leadership and change management experience within a service driven organisation. You will also have the ability to deliver on tasks that range from strategic to operational on a daily basis. You will have the insight to understand the long-term goals of the wider organisation, its values and aspirations and of the legal and political context in which it operates. Experience successfully delivering community based projects with a thorough understanding of a project lifecycle is highly desirable for this position.
