The psychologist is a member of an inter-disciplinary team and works with children and young people with developmental, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical difficulties, and exceptional needs (including giftedness) and their families. The psychologist works with preschool and school staff, and parents to develop evidence based psychology interventions that include proactive, targeted and intensive strategies that can be adapted for learning and home contexts. The psychologist at this level has demonstrated specialisation and expertise in working with children and young people with additional and complex needs and will be required to provide professional support and supervision to other psychologists as well as maintain a professional caseload.

Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) child-related employment screening prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every three years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RAN – Responding to Abuse & Neglect full day/online training course every three years. For all other Special Conditions please refer to the Role Description.

Requirements
Applicants are required to submit a CV, the Application Cover Sheet, Employment Declaration, and a written statement of no more than 1500 words. Written statements should address the criteria outlined in the Role Description. Applicants should include the name, address and contact number of three (3) referees, one being your current line manager.

Essential Qualifications
Current and full registration (general) with the Psychology Board of Australia. Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor.
