The Partnerships and Community Coordinator is a role within Metropolitan Aboriginal Youth & Family Services (MAYFS) and is accountable to the Manager, MAYFS for: Engaging local communities to identify issues contributing to offending by Aboriginal young people, and leading the design of local solutions; building strategic partnerships with Aboriginal specific agencies, local communities and other key stakeholders, to assess the ongoing effectiveness of MAYFS programs and identify emerging community needs; leading interagency collaboration on behalf of MAYFS in order to reduce the number of Aboriginal young people in the justice system; providing expert advice to MAYFS staff around policy and practice to improve the justice outcomes for Aboriginal children and young people; supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of a restorative practice and family inclusive service delivery model for Aboriginal clients; contributing to broader government and sector Aboriginal youth justice related initiatives and developing high level expert strategic advice at departmental and whole of government levels in relation to Aboriginal peoples, clients and/or communities.

Special Conditions: Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a Background Screening and National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC) prior to being employed and every three years. Must hold a current Australian issued Driver’s Licence (equivalent to minimum class ‘C’ – South Australian), which must be maintained. Incumbent must be willing and able to drive all government vehicles within their licence classification during the course of their duties. Some out of hours work may be required.

Remuneration: $98,259 - $106,507 (ASO7)
