Human Resource Officer



Location: Tumbarumba 


A great opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and/or experienced person to join Councils Human Resources and Safety Team as a Human Resource Officer at the Tumbarumba Office.  This position will work in partnership and consultation with people leaders to provide human resource expertise to ensure Council has the right people, in the right place at the right time and provide coaching, support and influence to managers to ensure they deliver on their requirements.


Reporting to the Manager Human Resources & Safety your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide day to day advice to all staff and people managers on HR Policy and Procedures
  • Work with people leaders within the functions to implement key activities, talent reviews and salary reviews
  • Ensure compliance of salary system related activities
  • Provide advice, planning and implementation support on all people plan activities to ensure implementation is a priority
  • Provide monthly report on key people metrics
  • Research and write a range of employment policies which support People and Culture and Council’s Human Resources Strategy
  • Partner with people leaders from across Council’s services to build and maintain positive working relationships
  • Advise and support people leaders to model positive workplace behaviours using a range of tools, programs and policies


What are we Looking For?

  • Demonstrated HR administration experience in a similar position
  • Close attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Awards
  • Previous experience working in a high volume support role
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and deal with a variety of activities;
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • A team player with a can do attitude.


SALARY

Salary will be range from $2,972.73 - $3,345.90 per fortnight (gross) plus 9.5% Superannuation, relocation assistance and salary sacrifice opportunities.
