Job description: Position Description

Job Summary

Essential qualifications, certificates and/or licenses required for this position

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, or equivalent;
  • Class C Drivers Licence.

The role of the Operational Services Group is to manage the maintenance and construction of Councils roads, parks, footpaths, community buildings, playgrounds, footpaths, sports fields, wharves, boat ramps and bushland reserves for the residents and wider community. This includes the support services of household waste and recycling, street cleansing, graffiti removal and Emergency Management support in meeting Councils legislative requirements for local Emergency Services by working with the SES (State Emergency Services), RFS (Rural Fire Service) and other state emergency response agencies in preparation, response and managing natural disasters.

The position reports to the Group Manager Operational Services and provides executive support to the OSG unit and Sutherland Emergency Management Committee including co-ordination and preparation of correspondence, diary planning, management of special projects and management of sensitive information Monitoring along with coordinating monthly, quarterly and annual reports from the OSG group.
