IR/HR Business Partner

Campbelltown City is currently undergoing transformational change and now is your opportunity to become a foundational member of a Dream People and Performance Team. The organisation is moving through its next exciting phase and is looking to drive progressive cultural change, capability and performance outcomes. Reporting to the HR Business Partner Coordinator, you will have a proven record of developing effective professional relationships with people leaders and employees in order to work in partnership and to meet the ever changing needs of the business. In addition you will contribute to projects to bring a new level of sophistication and capacity to the People function of Council. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:

  • You have formal qualifications in law, HR and or Industrial Relations
  • You have a record of achievement in industrial/employee relations
  • You enjoy the challenge of seeking out information and getting to the bottom of IR/ER issues
  • You take responsibility for end to end investigations? You will be solution-focused, and will ensure your advice and support aligns with councils priorities.
  • You have provided coaching and support to teams on contemporary developments in employment law and industrial relations and its application to the councils’ workforce.
  • You will have an excellent understanding of relevant state legislation and be comfortable interpreting and providing advice.
  • You have demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret detailed information, such as regulations, and provide clear and concise advice on workplace relations issues to a high standard in a fast paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to translate information into “plain English”.
