SHIRE OF YILGARN



The Gateway to the Wheatbelt and the Goldfields.


The co-existence of mining and agriculture has balanced the Yilgarn economy, with the two activities supplementing and complementing each other through their respective boom and bust cycles. 


Council is seeking to appoint a senior executive who has significant Local Government management experience and can demonstrate strategic leadership capabilities, with strong financial and statutory management skills. The successful applicant will also be able to show a sensitivity and understanding of living and working within a community in a rural location. 


Ideal applicants will be visionary leaders, possess highly developed management and business acumen skills and have the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. You will work in a remote environment delivering Council’s services and helping to build a future. 


The position is offered on a three year performance based employment contract with an attractive remuneration package to be set in accordance with the Salaries and Allowances Tribunal Band 3, $156,356 to $256,711 per annum, salary and benefits are subject to negotiation and could include, but not limited to base salary, superannuation, utilities etc. In addition private use of a motor vehicle, housing (shire house), utilities, professional development allowances and reasonable relocation expenses are available.
