  • VPSG-5 range $93,867 - $113,572 p.a. + super + leave loading*
  • One (1) full time, fixed term (until 30/06/2019) position available
  • Working within the BlueConnect Program, Information, Systems Security Command located at 637 Flinders St, Docklands**
  • About the role:
  • The BlueConnect Program is overseeing the modernisation of systems and technology within Victoria Police so we can better serve the community. BlueConnect is changing the way we collect, manage and access information, as well as connect with the community by supporting an agile and responsive police service.  The Body Worn Camera (BWC) Project is a key project within the BlueConnect Program. 
  • By capturing audio and video of the scene and interactions with victims and perpetrators, BWCs will support better and more efficient justice outcomes (in both criminal and civil jurisdictions); and reduced trauma for victims of crime.
  • As the successful applicant you will support full deployment of body worn cameras across the State by managing the capital works program with limited direction. 
  • Some of your duties will include: 
  • The position involves managing a large and compressed capital works program to support the deployment of BWC's across all Victoria Police Station sites within Victoria, including:
  • Prioritising and coordinating site works required, according to a challenging and pre-defined roll-out schedule
  • Preparing site Scope of Works using floor plans and device specifications
  • Conducting site visits as required
  • Procuring, coordinating and managing electrical, architectural and building contractors across multiple sites
  • Identifying and managing and reporting on program risks and mitigations to achieve project objectives
    • Actively support the BWC operational deployment activities, including logistical processes, business readiness objectives and BWC solution implementation
  • As the successful applicant you will have:
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large infrastructure/capital works programs, including preparation of scope of works, procurement of contractors and end to end management of a compressed program of works across multiple sites
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal communication, written communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to gain cooperation and achieve realistic outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage various stakeholder expectations, gain stakeholder commitment at all levels and assist in effective and efficient decision making related to achieving a successful outcome
  • Knowledge within public sectors and an understanding of relevant legislation, polices, and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying risks, issues and mitigation strategies relating to infrastructure/capital works program roll-outs in a large multi-disciplinary organisation
  • Requirements and relevant information:
  • The successful candidate is required to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance to the level determined by the Department Head. To obtain this clearance applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.
  • *As of 1 July 2018 the VPSG-5 range will be $95,275 - $115,276 p.a. + super + leave loading.

**Your usual place of work will be within the BlueConnect Program, Information, Systems Security Command; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Information, Systems Security Command as required.
