The Higher Education and Skills Group (HESG) is responsible for the oversight of tertiary education in Victoria, including vocational education and training, higher education, adult education and lifelong learning. This role sits in the Training Market Services Division (TMS) of HESG and is part of a small team possessing high-level analytical and conceptual skills. The Senior Project Officer- Payments, Provider Management Unit, suits an individual looking for a rewarding opportunity to apply their highly developed people and technical skills in a high profile and high priority area that assures all Victorians have access to a quality training and skills market. The Senior Project Officer- Payments will have carriage of the monthly payment process for all contracted training providers, including ongoing monitoring and assessment of data trends and exceptions.

Senior Project Officer-Payments- Provider Management Unit 

The Senior Project Officer- Payments reports to the Manager, Provider Management Unit. The PMU is responsible for the oversight of VET funding contracts and the relationship with contracted training providers, including managing requests for contract changes, undertaking payment functions and an enhanced case management of compliance and assurance activities.

In carrying out their role, the Senior Project Officer- Payments manages and leads projects and targeted tasks, remains flexible and responsive to a changing environment and provides well-researched advice that informs and influences the attitude and behaviour of peers and stakeholders. The Senior Project Officer- Payments will apply innovative thinking to their work, promoting a culture of process improvement.

The Senior Project Officer- Payments will build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and may represent TMS at key meetings in relation to the TMS funding and payments system and processes.
