Contribute to developing new legislation, legislative amendments and policy related to the taxes, duties, levies, grants and subsidies administered by the State Revenue Office.

  • Salary $93,867 pa (from 1 July 2018 $95,275 pa) plus 9.5 percent superannuation
  • Fixed term (up to 12 months)
  • Melbourne CBD Location

About the role
Engaging with high level stakeholders, including within government and industry, you will participate in legislative reform by providing advice and attending briefings and parliamentary debates.

A key aspect of the role is preparing materials for the State Revenue Office, Office of the Chief Parliamentary Counsel, the Department of Treasury and Finance, the Victorian Treasurer and State Parliament.

Skills and experience
The attached position description outlines the key selection criteria including the skills and experience we are seeking, including:

  • Experience interpreting and applying legislation in a complex legal, commercial or political environment.
  • Experience in developing primary and subordinate legislation and an understanding of government processes.
  • High-level communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in developing public policy programs and providing advice.
