Early Childhood Educator (Diploma)

If so, Moonee Valley City Council is seeking passionate, knowledgeable and motivated Diploma educators to join the Early Years’ Team to provide education and care for young children within our department. As a successful applicant, you will have the opportunity to join a dynamic team allowing you to grow, develop and provide high quality education and care to children in partnerships with families and the wider community.  


Some key elements to this role include:

  • In partnership with the room leaders and other educators, produce high quality documentation, plan and implement a play-based curriculum that is underpinned by the National Quality Standards, Approved Frameworks and meets the individual developmental strengths, interests and needs of each child in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment. 
  • Ensure supervision is active, adequate and efficient at all times and maintain a high standard of health and hygiene practices.
  • Work in collaboration with the room leader and other educators to assist in the provision of inclusive and culturally appropriate children’s education and care programs.


The successful candidate will have a Diploma of Children’s Services or equivalent (as approved by ACECQA), current WWCC, current First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Qualification, combined with a demonstrated knowledge and experience of child development and contemporary approaches to the delivery of children’s programs. You will also possess an understanding of Victoria’s Child Safe Standards and how educators apply them in daily practice.
