Unit Manager External Funding and Grants

  • This position attracts a minimum Total Remuneration Package (TRP) of $115,000 per annum

This role is responsible for leading the development of State and Federal Government funding applications within Council. You will also lead senior staff to plan and develop projects that enhance assets and infrastructure under the care, control and management of Council, delivering against the principle of the Community Strategic Plan for Central Coast Council.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Leading senior staff to plan and develop projects that enhance the Corporate Values of Council;
  • Investigation of suitable funding opportunities for priority projects;
  • Mapping priority projects by Community Strategic Plan themes; geographically and by project type.

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in grant development and funding, project management, government, education or community services, combined with ongoing professional development;
  • Previous experience in a similar role working in a large organisation;
  • Proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on quality outcomes and a customer focus;
  • Demonstrated experience in sourcing grant opportunities;
  • Demonstrated experience in managing grant submissions;
  • Proven track record in grant writing and program development;
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Demonstrated high level of skills and experience in social research; demographic analysis and policy development to inform planning decisions, services and program development/delivery;
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and the ability to build strong, credible relationships with staff and stakeholders and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes that add value to the organisation.
