The Team Leader Banking leads a small team of banking staff. This position assists the Manager in the development, management and delivery of banking activities undertaken by the Accounts Receivable and Banking Team, departmental business units and schools. This role has particular responsibilities for the operational performance of the banking team including twice daily cash flow reporting to the Queensland Treasury Corporation and management of the departments bank accounts.

The Team Leader Banking will:

  • Coordinate the activities the Banking Team with emphasis on providing guidance, training and compliance with government and departmental legislation, policies and standards.
  • Ensure a high level of operational performance including:
    • ensuring daily cash flow reporting to Queensland Treasury Corporation is performed correctly and on time.
    • daily outgoing payment files are successfully transmitted to the bank.
    • monthly bank reconciliations for DoE corporate accounts are accurately completed within the required timeframe.
  • Ensure a high level of service delivery which maintains client satisfaction.
  • Provide advice to clients relating to banking issues and ensure that issues are quickly resolved within agreed timeframes and escalated where necessary.
  • Identify and implement improvements, training and user education requirements that affect banking activities such as implementation of new systems, review and implement new banking software applications.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including departmental business units and schools, to review, identify and action improvements to systems and business processes.
  • Prepare briefing material, written correspondence and reports for the Manager and,
  • Participate in review and project work within the unit ensuring agreed objectives are being met within budget and on time.
