Award/Classification: Tasmanian State Service Award - General Stream Band 4
Salary: $68,043.00 to $78,457.00 per annum
Employment Type: Fixed-term, casual
Region: Statewide

An employment register is not a vacancy and inclusion on a register does not guarantee any offer of employment will be made.

The register is open for a two year period, however State Growth will be undertaking an assessment of applications received by 28 February 2018, to ensure that there is time to provide successful applicants with any additional training deemed necessary before a peak in work demand anticipated to arise from mid-2018.


Conduct escorts of Over-Size Over-Mass (OSOM) vehicles in accordance with Departmental operating policies and procedures. Includes controlling traffic as required. 

Position Requirements


The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this role is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.  The following checks are to be conducted.

  • Crimes of violence
  • Serious drug related offences
  • Crimes involving dishonesty
  • Serious traffic offences. 


Evidence of the following must be provided prior to appointment to this role:

  • Current full car driver licence

The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role.


  • Accredited or authorised as an escort vehicle driver in any State or Territory.


**To be a Certified Pilot Vehicle Driver in Tasmania requires successful completion of the units of competence required for the Victorian Level 2 Pilot accreditation process.  

  • And accumulated pilot driving experience in a range of range of traffic conditions, road environments and weather conditions.
