Water Infrastructure Project Engineer



The Water Infrastructure Projects Engineer leads a small team and is responsible for management of the short term capital delivery program (1 -3 year period) and capital investment governance and approvals process, develop annual capital works program, project manage and deliver major (>$2M) and minor capital works (<$2M) and develop strategic mechanisms for delivering routine capital works effectively.


Key duties for the role include:

  1. Capital Investment Governance. To oversee the capital investment governance framework to ensure effective and efficient delivery of annual capital works programs
  2. Capital Works Program. Develop annual capital works program in conjunction with planning engineer and in accordance with the capital investment governance framework.
  3. Major Projects. To deliver major capital works in accordance with procurement and tendering guidelines and project management principles to ensure effective outcomes are delivered.
  4. Minor Projects. To deliver minor capital works in accordance with procurement and tendering guidelines and project management principles to ensure effective outcomes are delivered.
  5. Strategic Procurement. Develop strategies for bundling of capital works projects with a view to reduce the overall delivery cost.
  6. People Management. Lead, motivate, develop and support the team to deliver service excellence

Your application must demonstrate your skills and experience in the following mandatory requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Engineering) in a relevant technical discipline
  • Minimum of Queensland C class provisional drivers licence.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Project (or equivalent)
