An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Data Analyst to be part of the Victorian Centre for Data Insights - a dynamic new team at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC). The Victorian Centre for Data Insights will help transform the way the Victorian Government uses data to inform policy making and service design.

You will be passionate about working for the people of Victoria by helping the government achieve its strategic objectives.

Ideally, you will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience developing analytical products such as reports, dashboards, visualisations, and algorithms for a wide range of stakeholders;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of: SQL, R, Excel, Python, Scala, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or ESRI;
  • Tertiary qualifications in statistics, data analysis, data science, mathematics, epidemiology, actuarial sciences, or equivalent demonstrated experience;
  • Knowledge of basic statistics (e.g. descriptive statistics, experimental design, hypothesis testing regression);
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to present findings and recommendations from analysis;
  • A conceptual understanding of the principles of Agile Frameworks (e.g. DSDM) and design methodologies, and associated tools e.g. JIRA;
  • Experience using a range of collaboration tools including Confluence and Slack.
