About the role
The Commercial, Property & Technology Branch advises government clients in relation to a wide range of transactions with the private sector and other government agencies. Many of these arrangements involve substantial financial commitments by government, and the provision of significant infrastructure or services to clients.

Reporting to the Managing Principal Solicitor for the Property Team, we are seeking a passionate lawyer in the early years of their career to join the Property Team within the Commercial, Property & Technology Branch. This opportunity will enable a junior solicitor to gain entry to the legal sector as a valued team member, who will handle government land and property transactions involving both Crown and freehold land and the drafting of letters and memoranda of advice, leases, contracts of sale, development agreements and various other transaction documents relating to property and commercial transactions involving government agencies. The role will also involve some exposure to Native Title work.

About you
The successful candidate will be admitted, or be eligible for admission, to practice as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Victoria and will possess knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of property law, with a strong ability to carry out legal research and analysis.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and client relationship management skills, including an ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues.
