  • VPSG-6 range $115,136 - $154,076 p.a. + super + leave loading
  • One (1) full time, ongoing position available
  • Working within the Workplace Relations Division, located at the Human Resources Department, Victoria Police Centre, 637 Flinders Street, Docklands 3008*


About the role:

The Workplace Relations Division is primarily focused on assisting Victoria Police in managing the workforce, in line with certified industrial agreements and employment legislation. This includes providing high level advice and support on employees' working conditions and entitlements, managing complaints associated with workplace conflict, bullying and VPS misconduct, undertaking organisation reviews and realignments.

As a Manager within the Workplace Relations Division the successful applicant, will have a strong employee relations focus and be responsible for managing a team of HR professionals by:

  • Providing team leadership including allocation of work
  • Nurturing effective and positive client relationships
  • Case managing more difficult matters
  • Updating assigned policies and delegations



Skills and experience:

As the successful applicant, you will have a strong HR and people management background with demonstrated experience of providing support and advice on the full spectrum of workplace relations matters which includes:

  • Industrial advice and complex case management
  • Union liaison
  • Fair work commission disputes
  • Enterprise bargaining
  • Structural reviews and realignments
  • Policy development



Requirements and relevant information:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification(s) would be desirable (such as Human Resource Management or Employment Law).
  • The incumbent will be required to complete the OHS requirements of the organisation, which may include local level training relating to equipment usage and Hazardous Chemicals.

*Your usual place of work will be within the Workplace Relations Division, Human Resource Department; however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
